The International Cake Show Australia opens in Brisbane

The International Cake Show Australia is one of the country’s largest cake, sugar and baking events, featuring cake and cookie decorating, a baking and sugar art show, a food festival and more.

Held from 11–13 April, the event will showcase work from leading edible cake artists and decorators, over 100 free demonstrations and hands-on workshops.

Returning to the event for her third year is UK personality and television host Rosie Dummer, aka Rosie Cake-Diva. Dummer famously created a life-sized Paddington Bear for Queen Elizabeth II and on Sunday, she’ll be showing audiences how she created the edible fine China cup and saucer she created for the Queen.

The prestigious Wedding Cake Designer of the Year will be judged by:

  • Angela Morrison from Cakes by Angela Morrison in Virginia Beach, USA
  • Marc Suarez from Marc Suarez Luxury Cakes in Paris, France
  • Susanti Sunardje from LeNovelle Cake in Jakarta, Indonesia
  • Dominique Pickering from Polly Pickering Cakes in Yorkshire, UK
  • Aimee Ford from Aimee Ford at the Isle of Man, UK
  • Zoe Clark from Zoe Clark Cakes on the Sunshine Coast
  • Nikki Ernst from Queensland Brides.

Plus, The Great Australian Bake Off celebrity baker Melisa Chilimanzi will be host the ‘Make & Take 1 Hour Mini Classes’, where participants will learn how to level six cupcakes; roll out, cut and apply the perfect sized fondant; and stencil each cupcake, before taking them home to enjoy.

Hosted by the Australian Cake Artists & Decorators Association (ACADA), the International Cake Show Australia will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (Exhibition Hall 2). For all the event details, visit the show website.
