Collaborative robots launched for cooking applications
Doosan Robotics has announced the launch of its E-SERIES, an NSF-certified collaborative robot line created for the food and beverage industry.
The line has the flexibility to make a wide range of food and beverages while offering high safety and hygiene standards. It has recently received the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certification for food hygiene safety with features such as sealed haps between the cobot’s connecting axes. Its reduced weight and slim design offers easy installation, allowing it to fit into many workspaces. Its 5 kg payload and nearly 3′ reach provides the capacity to handle many food tasks.
The E-SERIES has been tested for a variety of applications, including its implementation at Robot Chicken, a Korean fried chicken concept powered by cobots. It has also been tested and deployed to make coffee and other beverages through Doosan Robotics’ Dr. Presso. The company plans to continue customising the E-SERIES for other uses including baking, barbecue and specialised functions.
With its launch of the E-SERIES, Doosan Robotics is revealing 13 cobots with a range of product options including the M, A and H-SERIES, customised for process performance and industrial needs for customers.
"Our E-SERIES cobots were specifically created to help transform the food and beverage industry, providing immediate solutions to labour shortages and improving work efficiencies,” said William (Junghoon) Ryu, CEO of Doosan Robotics.
Doosan E-SERIES cobots start shipping in June.
