New Zealand craft soda wins award for cannabis-inspired terpene innovation
New Zealand-based craft soda manufacturer Good Herb Soda has won the NZ Inspire+ Artisan Awards in the Craft Beverage category after its flavour-infused terpene innovation.
Terpenes — the organic, aromatic compounds that give botanicals their unique scent and flavour — are used in the beverage creation process.
The company’s cannabis-inspired True Terpenes blends, used in its UnWind and InZone drinks, promote energy, focus or relaxation, depending on the terpene used.
The award recognises a product’s degree of innovation, fit for purpose, visual appeal, taste, price point and shelf life.
Good Herb Soda Co-founder Arjun Bhargava said the company was honoured to receive such a prestigious award that highlights the efforts in beverage innovation.
“Our mission to create healthy non-alcoholic functional drinks that enhance consumers’ experience would not be possible without True Terpenes and the company’s commitment to safety and innovation,” Bhargava said.
Founded in 2019, Good Herb Soda has a mission to generate more awareness around the wellness aspect of psychotropics such as cannabis and help consumers curate their experience.
The company’s terpene sodas are inspired by cannabis strains and recreated using terpenes extracted from natural plants.
