Vocollect SRX2 wireless headset for distribution centres and warehouses

Friday, 19 October, 2012 | Supplied by: Intermec Technologies Aust Pty Ltd

Vocollect has released the SRX2 wireless headset for Australian distribution centres (DCs) and warehouses. Its voice-recognition performance is claimed to enhance workers’ operational efficiency.

The headset uses Vocollect’s SoundSense technology that continuously listens to and blocks environmental sounds in the DC or warehouse and is claimed to provide a 50% reduction in ambient noise in comparison with similar headsets. According to the company, workers achieve higher accuracy, fewer errors and improved productivity as a result of better recognition with the headset.

The rugged yet compact wireless headset is designed to operate in a range of environments including coolers, high-noise and fast-moving piece-picking environments. It provides optimal recognition and response in freezer environments with temperatures as low as -30°C.

The SRX2’s batteries are designed to last two shifts in dry environments and one full shift in freezer environments; increased intelligent battery management also predicts battery shift life in advance.
