Colby raised storage areas

Friday, 07 January, 2011 | Supplied by: Dematic Pty Ltd

Colby raised storage areas can double the usable floor area in warehouses or distribution centres using standard pallet racking components. This would, of course, be subject to the obtainment of the usual development, building and fire approvals.

The raised flooring solutions provide a cost-effective way of utilising overhead space, while not interrupting ground floor operations.

The raised storage areas are designed to meet specific requirements, creating a safe and secure space for use as bulk storage and order picking areas.

A wide range of areas has been developed to cost-effectively provide more usable space. Low-cost, medium-duty floors can be designed using standard pallet racking components. In heavy-duty applications, structural columns are combined with Colby beam sections, which provide the necessary floor span and load carrying capability.

Benefits of the system include: utilises free overhead space saving the need for relocation; safe and secure operation meeting the highest standards in design; easily integrated with stairs, handrails, conveyors, pallet gates and other lifting and loading devices; seamless integration for shelving and racking systems; fire protection and OHS equipment are easily mounted. The system can be delivered in a range of different decking options and enables the use of overhead space. It is easily reconfigured, reducing installation time.
