AMCI DuraCoders stainless steel rotary encoders

Tuesday, 31 August, 2010 | Supplied by: Automated Control Pty Ltd

The range of AMCI DuraCoders feature stainless steel housings and an IP69K rating for operation in the most extreme conditions. The rotary encoders have a good shaft load rating and are claimed to provide a longer life cycle than other encoders and to operate reliably in applications where standard encoders fail.

With a standard IP67 rating and IP69K-rated versions available, users can take advantage of the DuraCoder’s protection against high-pressure and high-temperature washdowns; or liquid ingress from long-term immersion in water or contaminants.

The encoders have a standard 63 mm housing; oversized double row sealed bearing; solid shaft and hub shaft versions are available with a variety of sizing options; and shaft loadings of up to 45 kg radial/22.5 kg axial are accommodated.

The devices are available in six versions: SSI, digital, analog, incremental, DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP.

Applications that benefit from the stainless steel DuraCoder design include food/beverage processing, energy-generation equipment, chemical processing and wastewater treatment plants. With the ability to withstand the harshest environments, the DuraCoder remains a suitable solution for heavy-duty applications.
