Mettler Toledo EasyPlus sodium analyser titrator

Monday, 23 June, 2014 | Supplied by: Mettler-Toledo Ltd

Mettler Toledo’s EasyPlus sodium analyser measures the sodium content in food and beverage products. The silver nitrate (AgNO3) titrant normally used for chloride determination is replaced with the cheaper and safer sodium standards and reagents.

The analyser uses a smartphone-style app design to control all major functions, making it easy and intuitive to use. It determines the harmful sodium (Na+) of sodium chloride(NaCl) in food products rather than the chloride(Cl-). This enables exclusive measurement of Na+ content and reduces inaccuracies.

According to the company, the analyser is specific and accurate due to the evaluation algorithm developed for its standard addition technique. It says that this produces highly accurate results that are comparable to expensive analytical techniques for sodium determination such as ion chromotography(IC) or atomic absorption (AAS).
