Powder filler

Amtec has released the Powderpak D480R powder filler designed around the ability to pack powdered product at a rate of up to 480 x 25 kg bags per hour into either multiwall sacks or plastic/poly bags.

The filling machine is manufactured fully in 316 stainless steel with all product contact surfaces being polished to comply with the USDA 3A sanitary standard. A mild steel version can be supplied on request.

A fully automatic bag applicator is included as an integral part of the filler as is a product compaction and bag presentation system designed to prepare the bag for presentation to the sealer.

The filler is designed around a four head rotary carousel concept where Station 1 is for bag presenting, Station 2 is for bulk filling, Station 3 is for final top-up of the bag and Station 4 is for de-aeration and bag removal. The standard accuracy of filling of a 25 kg bag is 20 g, however it can be as low as 5 g depending on machine specifications.

Once the bag is de-aerated it is removed from Station 4 and is prepared for presentation to the automatic sealer. Amtec designs and builds all of the downstream equipment from the filler including sealing equipment, bag kickers, bag flatteners, checkweighers, metal detection and reject systems.
