OCME palletising manipulators

Friday, 03 September, 2010 | Supplied by: HBM Packaging Technologies

OCME has extended its range of palletising machines to include layer forming systems that use manipulators - designed to handle fragile products and multipacks.

The manipulators can infeed OCME’s robotic Pegasus, high-speed linear Orion and traditional Perseus line of palletisers. Depending on line speed, up to six manipulators can be used.

The OCME manipulators have self-centring grippers for maximum precision in positioning packs and bundles of packs and perform three main functions: pack rotation, layer forming and layer compacting.

The manipulators provide gentle handling of fragile and unstable packs, even at high speeds. The systems are suitable for use with lightweight PET multipacks, beer in lightweight glass, multipacks of cans and traditional glass packaging.

The systems are independently programmable and handle all pallet configurations including centre column. Reduced maintenance compared to traditional systems is claimed and no change parts are required.
