Improving conveyor belt hygiene

Sunday, 01 June, 2008 | Supplied by: Rydell Beltech Pty Ltd

Rydell Industrial (Belting) has introduced its ThermoDrive sprocket-driven hygienic conveyor belting.

The smooth hingeless top surface of the 100% homogeneous thermoplastic belt minimises the risk of microorganism contamination and reduces production downtime caused by cleaning.

Commonly made of polypropylene or acetal, the belting is FDA approved for use in food areas. There are no pins or hinges but the belts retain the strength and efficiency of modular belting.

Apart from being easier to clean, the belting operates on the same principle as modular belt — driven underneath by sprockets which engage into the belt to give positive drive and tracking.
