A&D Australasia SC and SE series scales

A&D Australasia has released a washdown platform scale for use in harsh environments. The scale series has an IP68 dust- and water-proof rating. They are equipped with a completely sealed indicator, which allows the scale to be completely submersed in 1 m of water for up to 24 h without compromising its water-tightness and no adverse effects on the weighing performance of gaining a stabilised weight reading in 1 s.

The SC and SE series scales have resistance to hostile environments. Both series are accredited with ISO 9000 Certification. The scales are aluminium anodised and coated with epoxy resin and the wiring has a protective silicon covering. The load cells are waterproof and corrosion resistant, adding to their performance in hostile environments over long periods of time.

The scales have been designed for use with six size D standard batteries and give around 4500 h of continuous operation. Whenever the scales are not in use, the auto power-off function kicks in, to increase the life of the batteries. The battery pack is easy to remove and the built-in battery life indicator on the liquid crystal display head lets the operator know in advance when the batteries need replacing.

The weigh pans of the SC scales series are made from stainless steel SUS304, while the weigh pans of the SE series are made from SUS430 stainless steel. Both series are manufactured with washdown construction design with stainless steel frames to allow simple and effective cleaning.

The scales have multiple weighing units including kg, lb, oz, counting and comparator functions making them suitable for use in a variety of manufacturing applications. In addition to this they have a quick USB interface and RS232C plus comparator relay output available for PC communication and printing requirements.
