Benolea olive leaf extract

Thursday, 11 April, 2013

Benolea, a clinically proven olive leaf extract marketed under Frutarom Health’s EFLA range of ingredient systems, is claimed to provide the Mediterranean diet’s cardiovascular health-support benefits in one ingredient.

Olive oil is one of the best known health ingredients in the Mediterranean diet and the olive leaf contains the key compounds oleuropein and polyphenols in even greater concentration. Oleuropein is a natural compound with proven blood pressure-lowering effects and acts in synergy with the other phytochemicals in Benolea’s multicomponent system.

Frutarom says a clinical trial showed the ingredient was efficient in lowering elevated blood pressure levels and positively influenced the lipid profile of participants.

Benolea is claimed to deliver a number of cardiovascular benefits, including: beneficial blood pressure range, healthy cholesterol levels, healthy blood sugar levels and coronary and vascular protection.

The ingredient is produced using Mediterranean-grown olive leaves cultivated and collected using analytics. The use of EFLA HyperPure manufacturing technology is claimed to guarantee a high degree of purity, solubility and improved stability.
