Rapeseed protein isolate as a novel food — submissions closing soon
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is calling for submissions to assist in consideration of the draft food regulatory measure on rapeseed protein isolate. It is intended to be used as a protein source and ingredient in a range of foods. The isolate, which is at least 90% protein, could also be used to provide desirable functional and sensory properties in food.
FSANZ assessed an application made by DSM Nutritional Products to amend the code to permit the use of rapeseed protein isolate as a novel food and has prepared a draft food regulatory measure and is now seeking comment.
