Bulla Dairy Foods appoints Peter Hall as Chief Executive Officer

The board of Bulla Dairy Foods (Bulla) has appointed Peter Hall as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the Australian family-owned dairy company into its next chapter.

With extensive international experience and a strong track record of driving growth and building brands, Hall is returning to Australia after more than 25 years leading food and beverage businesses across North America, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of CARIB Brewery and President of Beverage within the ANSA McAL Group of Companies. Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles with Heineken Americas, Dean & DeLuca, Treasury Wine Estates and Diageo.

Bulla Chairman Ian Sloan said: “Peter was a standout candidate and we were delighted when he accepted the role. He brings deep experience across fast-moving consumer goods and manufacturing, and an unparalleled understanding of how these industries are evolving. His international background and global perspective give us great confidence in his leadership of Bulla at this exciting time in the company’s history.”

Hall said he was honoured to return home to Australia and lead Bulla.

"Like so many Australians, Bulla was a much-loved part of my childhood, so returning home to lead the business is a unique career opportunity.

“What attracted me most was the unique combination of family ownership and the remarkable achievements the business has delivered for more than a century.

“Building brands has been my life’s work, and I’m excited to build on Bulla’s strong foundations and the family values that have made the business and brand so respected for generations.”

Sloan also thanked Acting Chief Executive Officer James Downey for his leadership over the past six months alongside the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team. Downey will continue working closely with Hall to ensure a smooth transition when he joins Bulla in September.
