Nominations closing soon for 2015 Advance Global Australian Awards
Nominations are closing soon for the 2015 Advance Global Australian Awards. Winners will be announced on 14 September at the Global Australian Leadership Summit, which will be held at the Sydney Opera House on 13-14 September.
The awards champion the top internationally based Australians and alumni who are leaders in their fields. Nominations are being accepted for a number of industry categories, including Food and Agriculture, Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Innovation.
An expert panel of global industry leaders will judge the awards. An overall winner will be selected from the winners of each category and a special Alumni Award will be presented to recognise the achievements of an alumnus of an Australian university who is not an Australian citizen or resident.
“Winning the Advance Global Australian of the Year Award 2014 and in my industry category, Advanced Manufacturing, greatly strengthened my ties back to Australia, and made me think a lot more about how I can help my industry back home. Seeing that what I was doing had relevance to other Australians, and could also inspire them to do similar things, is a great motivator for me too,” said Christopher Boshuizen, co-founder and CTO of Planet Labs Inc.
Nominations close on 18 February 2015. To nominate someone for the awards, visit www.advance.org/awards-2015-nominations.
