Awards to celebrate Victoria's wine lists
Following the success of the inaugural awards last year, the Restaurant and Catering Association Victorian Wine List Awards is back in 2018. Taking place at the Drinks Collective Show, the country’s only event dedicated solely to Australia’s $16 billion on-premise liquor industry, the awards will recognise local Victorian businesses that excel in wine list development and wine service.
“We’re really looking forward to showcasing the state’s finest wine lists and to celebrate the locally produced varieties,” said Stephanie Earle, Project Manager. “With extensive flavours and production techniques, now is a very exciting time for the wine industry, and local Victorian wine should be celebrated for its range and passion of local vineyards.”
The winners of the best wine lists in the state will cover the following categories: Restaurant Wine List — Extensive, Small Bars Wine List, Restaurant/Caterer in a Licensed Venue Wine List, Best Metropolitan Wine List Featuring Victoria Wines and Best Regional Wine List Featuring Victoria Wines.
Last year’s winners included Lake House in Daylesford, Mason’s of Bendigo in Bendigo and Coppersmith Hotel in South Melbourne.
As well as hosting the R&CA Wine List Awards, Drinks Collective will provide attendees with the opportunity to explore over 70 drinks exhibitors, discover the latest drink offerings, network with industry suppliers and influencers, and receive practical advice from three days of free masterclasses.
It will run alongside Fine Food Australia, the country’s largest trade event for the foodservice, hospitality and retail industries.
