AgriFutures welcome five new board directors
The Chair of AgriFutures Australia has welcomed five new non-executive directors to the board.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud appointed new members Andrew Harris, Cindy Cassidy, Diana Gibbs, Daniel Le Feuvre and Emma Robinson in early October.
Dr William Ryan from Western Australia was reappointed as a non-executive board director and Kay Hull will continue as Chair.
AgriFutures Australia Managing Director John Harvey will continue his tenure as the sole executive Board Director.
Hull said the board will continue to return greater benefits and financial returns to our levy payers, industries and the entire nation.
“It is an exciting time for our new directors as we move into the final few years of delivery against our current Strategic R&D Plan 2017–2022. We have achieved many of our goals and have exciting priorities for our new directors to engage on,” she said.
“We welcome the extensive skills and experience of our directors across start-ups, Rural Women’s Award participation, levied industry panel involvement, family farming along with backgrounds in research, development and innovation.
“I thank the Minister’s appointed independent selection panel for their commitment — with over 450 applications for six positions they have certainly had an enormous task.”
AgriFutures Australia, which is a government-funded program, aims to grow the long-term prosperity of Australian rural industries.
