Multiple awards for Constar’s DiamondClear

Monday, 21 January, 2008

There is great news for Constar and its customer, ConAgra. A PET bottle with Constar’s DiamondClear oxygen scavenging material created for Hunt’s Ketchup has been recognised by the Institute of Packaging Professionals as the top sustainable package for 2007. In addition to winning the 3M Sustainable Packaging Award, the Hunt’s Ketchup PET with DiamondClear also won the Ameristar Food Category Award.

This is a major validation of Constar’s DiamondClear technology as a lightweight, sustainable alternative to glass. DiamondClear is unique in that it delivers both extended shelf life and crystal-clear clarity in a monolayer PET structure.

The bigger story here is the DiamondClear technology in PET monolayer applications and what it offers anyone in glass looking for enhanced sustainability. This includes everything from pasta sauces to wine. The Pact Group owns licensing rights to DiamondClear in Australia and New Zealand so this exciting technology is available now in Asia-Pacific.
