Ansell has released a protection solutions guide, designed to simplify the glove selection process by coupling vital information with comparison charts and application images.

The catalogue summarises accurate and essential information into comparison charts and easy-to-follow decision trees. Gloves, sleeves and protective clothes are grouped into three categories, colour-coded for easy reference: mechanical protection (protection against cuts, abrasions, snags, punctures and hand fatigue), chemical and liquid protection (protection against harmful chemicals, liquids and mechanical hazards) and product protection (hand and product protection against contamination).

Once the user has determined which type of protection they require, the catalogue provides guidance as to which protection segment and duty level may be appropriate for their application. Finally, the catalogue guides them to the glove that best meets their safety, productivity and comfort requirements which, coupled with testing by the customer in the field for the chosen application, provides a comprehensive guide for the appropriate choice of glove.

An extensive industry table pinpoints the gloves recommended for each of the trades in food, pharmaceutical, janitorial, automotive, metal, glass, chemical, building and construction, and recycling industries according to the type of protection required.

A chemical permeation chart specifies gloves’ performance (according to EN 374) against 100 commonly used industrial chemicals. It indicates which Ansell glove provides the highest levels of protection and gives an indicator on how long workers may safely use the gloves when in contact with a particular chemical.

The catalogue covers the HyFlex, PowerFlex, Vantage, AlphaTec, Solvex and Touch N Tuff gloves.
