Ampac has started the year off with a bang, receiving awards from three organisations for its packaging products.

The company was awarded a Gold Award in Packaging Excellence by the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) for its Schwan’s Soft Serve Ice Cream Pouch. The pouch’s shape and custom fitment allow consumers to easily fill a soft ice-cream cone at home that looks like one from a soft-serve machine.

The flexible pouch has a dispensing fitment and reclosable cap. The structure withstands frozen distribution for home deliveries and is also designed for toughness while squeezing a frozen product.

The Ampac Pull Tab received Graphic Design USA’s American Package Design Award. The Pull Tab beverage pouch is an alternative format to the traditional straw punch-through beverage pouch that is commonly used in the beverage market. The pack has a premade hole on the pouch body that is covered by an easy-open, hermetically sealed label.

In addition, Ampac’s Savvy Green pouch for laundry detergent received a WorldStar Award in the Household Category. The pouch uses Ampac’s No. 2 Pouch film, which is reportedly the first primary flexible package to participate in the HOW2RECYCLE program.

“Ampac’s continuous innovation in flexible packaging markets shows our use of imagination and know-how that brings change to the industry,” said Dave Bartish, Ampac’s vice president of marketing new business development.

“The recognition we’ve received from these organisations is a culmination of the efforts of our technical innovation, sales and marketing teams who collectively bring their expertise to the marketplace.”
