Aluminium foil tray manufacturer Confoil recently received a Worksafe Award for Employer Excellence at the Worksafe Victoria annual awards.

The company received the award for its design and implementation of a return-to-work (RTW) program for its employees. According to Confoil CEO Kris Srikanthan, the company’s RTW program forms an integral part of its commitment to “implementing safety policies and procedures that are best practice and leading the way with innovative initiatives”.

Confoil says its RTW program, which was implemented in 2009, focuses on holistic support, genuine consultation with all parties involved in the RTW process and getting the right information to the right people, at the right time.

The program has led to a number of improvements, such as the immediate care for any injured workers, meaningful modified duties and a reduction in both lost time injury frequency rates and workers compensation premiums.
