Nutricia expands milk drying and packing capacity

Wednesday, 07 May, 2014

Nutricia has announced plans to acquire a spray dryer from Gardians, which produces nutritional dairy products, in addition to the blending, packing and can-forming business of Auckland company the Sutton Group.

With the acquisition, Nutricia will have a large milk-drying capacity, along with a long-term fresh milk supply access. The transaction will also add an infant formula blending and packing facility to Nutricia’s existing operations platform.

The investment forms part of Nutricia’s development and diversification of its base powder sourcing.

The transaction is subject to standard regulatory approvals. It is expected to close in the next few months.
