Interactive map of the Australian food industry

Monday, 26 May, 2014

The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology (AIFST) and Food Innovation Australia (FIAL) have co-produced a map that represents the Australian food industry industry from the farm gate to the end product (not including agriculture and food service). All organisations and companies within the industry have been labelled on the map. The map is split into nine categories to represent the various sectors of the food industry eg, ingredients, associations, manufacturing etc.

FIAL and AIFST have spent the past six months gathering data on all companies and associations to produce the map, sourced from a wide array of databases, government databases, magazine directories and many other resources.

The map will be distributed in a coming issue of the AIFST’s magazine, Food Australia, and be available online - but if you want an earlier look and play, you can see and interact with the map at AIFST’s stand (D20) at the AIFST Convention hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (22-25 June).

The convention is being held alongside foodpro 2014 - so in one visit to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre you will be able to see and experience the latest information, technology and equipment for the food and beverage industry - all in one place at one time.
