Tuesday, 31 July, 2012

Foodtech Packtech organiser XPO says this year’s three-day food manufacturing, packaging and processing technology event will be “world class”.

“The level of anticipation this year from all parts of the industry is higher than we’ve ever seen for a while, and exhibitors are pulling out all the stops to ensure that thousands of trade visitors will get a lot of benefit from Foodtech Packtech 2012,” said Vanessa White from XPO.

A feature of the event will be the NZ Food Innovation Showcase, organised in collaboration with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development Ltd, an Auckland Council organisation. The showcase will feature NZ value-added food producers, technologists, manufacturers and R&D organisations with genuine innovation stories.

“We want the NZ Food Innovation Showcase to drive a pipeline of bookings through our world-leading food manufacturing production trial machinery and facilities - all readily available for food developers and manufacturers to create and commercialise new innovative food and beverage product,” said Dave Pooch, an organiser of the showcase.

Foodtech Packtech 2012 will also feature a series of no-cost development and business seminars, as well as the NZ Food Awards, which will be held on 27 September, the final day of the event.

More than 180 industry suppliers from around New Zealand and the world will exhibit their products at Foodtech Packtech 2012. Visitors can check out: flavours at the Ungerer Australia stand; eccentric disc pumps by Mouvex at the Nu-Way Energy stand; packaging and palletising equipment at the Wyma Engineering stand; training courses at the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) stand; pasteurisation of chunky foodstuffs by Ekato Systems at the Sutton Group stand; and the LMT level sensor at the ifm efector stand.

Foodtech Packtech 2012 is a trade-only event with free entry for those who register online. Visitors go in the draw to win a $65,000 Ford Territory TS AWD just by having their visitor badge scanned at the Ford stand. Foodtech Packtech 2012 is held at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds from 25 to 27 September.
