Rising electricity prices and the carbon tax mean that manufacturers need to implement energy-efficiency strategies to keep on top of energy costs. Simons Green Energy is hosting a series of seminars, ‘Energy Efficiency Solutions for food and beverage manufacturers’, to help manufacturers cope with these challenges.

Industry experts will explain how cogeneration and trigeneration systems are proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce high electricity costs and eliminate the impact of power failure in food and beverage manufacturing. The seminars will also explore key success factors for securing a Clean Technology Program grant.

Speakers will include: Derek Simons, Simons Green Energy; Kim Lawrence, Low Carbon Australia; and Tim Stock, NSW Office of Environment & Heritage (Sydney seminar only).

Key topics to be covered:

  • Impact of the energy market on the food and beverage industry
  • What are co- and trigeneration?
  • Is it suitable for your business?
  • How can these new, cost-effective technologies reduce your energy costs and carbon footprints?
  • NSW Government Office and Environment Heritage guidelines for cogeneration (Sydney event only)
  • How can you take advantage of government incentives?
  • Funding options

The seminars are suitable for CEOs, CFOs, sustainability managers, facility and operational managers, contractors and consultants. Attendees will benefit from free specific consultation and will learn from real cases and industry experts.

The Melbourne Simons Green Energy seminar will be held on Tuesday 21 August from 8.00 to 10.30 am at KPMG offices, 147 Collins Street, Melbourne. The Sydney seminar will be held on Thursday 23 August from 8.00 to 10.30 am at the Parkroyal Parramatta, 30 Philip Street, Parramatta.
