DSM signs Teavigo licensing agreement with Taiyo

Thursday, 31 July, 2014

Ingredients manufacturer DSM has signed a licensing agreement with Taiyo Kagaku that will transfer the Teavigo brand EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) business to Taiyo. The deal will see Taiyo become the sole producer of the Teavigo product by the end of this year.

Teavigo is a natural green tea extract that reportedly contains a minimum of 90% EGCG. It is caffeine free and water soluble.

Teavigo was previously distributed under licence by Pharmachem Laboratories in the dietary supplement segment and by DSM in the food and beverage segments. Under the terms of the agreement with DSM, Taiyo will take responsibility for all customer segments across the globe.

During the transitional period, DSM, Pharmachem and Taiyo say they will work together to ensure an orderly transition for Teavigo customers and an uninterrupted supply of Teavigo.
