Plastics processing company Krauss Maffei recently celebrated two major milestones: the 30th anniversary of its Automation AG subsidiary operation and the supply of its 1000th robot from its Schwerin manufacturing facility.

To celebrate, the company held an open day, attended by more than 1000 visitors, which featured displays of linear and industrial robots.

Thomas Marufke, Krauss Maffei Automation AG Sales and Commercial Manager, said the company’s strategy had been conclusively confirmed by the fact that it had increased its workforce and production significantly over the past three decades. Most recently, the company doubled the production assembly area in its Schwaig plant to around 1700 m2.

Krauss Maffei’s 1000th robot was an LRX-S linear robot with a payload of 35 kg. It will be used on a CX 350-3000 injection moulding machine in the US.

HBM Plastics & Packaging Technologies is the distributor for Krauss Maffei in Australia.
