PFD Food Services has been awarded 2006 Multi-site Low Risk Company of the Year. The award was presented at the Australian HACCP Conference Dinner held at Melbourne's Park Hyatt Hotel.

"We are delighted that our external auditors are so impressed with our company's attitude and commitment to HACCP functions and food safety standards that they nominated us. It also reinforces to our management and employees that the programs that we have in place are appropriate and have now been independently judged to be industry best practice. I would particularly like to congratulate Gail Greenhatch and her supporting staff as well as all levels of our staff throughout our branch network who are involved with complying with the HACCP program," joint managing director Kerry Smith said.

In the submission to the panel, the auditors stated the PFD Food Service organisation is unequalled in its exceptionally high level of commitment to and ownership of the food safety and quality objectives that span the business from the most senior management through to all their staff at the most basic operational level.

Never has an audit of any PFD site identified any potential food safety issues of concern.
