CMTP acquires Aspect Packaging

CMTP group of companies is now Australia’s largest combined manufacturer and supplier of pallets, packaging products and supplies after taking a controlling interest in Aspect Packaging’s operations.

A major producer of timber and export pallets, timber boxes, crates and bins, livestock penning, timber mouldings, architraves and skirtings, CMTP also supplies FIBC’s, Coreflute, plastic wrap, cardboard cartons and packaging products.

The acquisition of Aspect Packaging’s operations in Braeside and Laverton (Victoria), South Australia, NSW and Tasmania adds to the company’s existing operations located in Colac (Victoria).

CMTP Managing Director, Chris Meade, says the acquisition is a positive step in the right direction for the company and its customers.

“The CMTP group has more than 30 years experience in the manufacturing and supplying of packaging products and we are very excited to add the Aspect’s operations to our business mix. It now gives us the advantage of CMTP and Aspect Packaging’s combined strength in product offering and service.

“‘The CMTP – All Aspects of Packaging’ brand and operations also means we can now offer a nation-wide supply and distribution network, providing a total national supply service to existing and prospective customers,” he said.

CMTP’s controlling interest in Aspect Packaging has had some impact on the company’s structure, but still sees 125 employees working out of the existing operations.

“After an extensive review of the business and a streamlining of our operations we believe the combination of CMTP and Aspect Packaging, trading under the brand of CMTP, will work together strongly to design and develop more innovative packaging solutions for our customers.

“We also intend to further strengthen our position in the cardboard carton market through the development of strong alliances with corrugated cardboard manufacturers.
“Add more offerings on Corflute packaging, film, bubblewrap, stretchwrap, tape and other sundry items used in the packaging industry and it is our intention to deliver a complete packaging solution to our customers,” he said.
