Alcan expands
Alcan has acquired the capsules and closures distribution businesses of Classic Packaging and Nellie Products - both companies are subsidiaries of Foster's Group.
This acquisition builds on Alcan's establishment of a Stelvin production facility in Australia. Located in Adelaide, SA, the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, named Alcan Packaging Capsules of Australia, will begin production of Stelvin's complete range of closures in January 2006.
These announcements represent Alcan Packaging's investment of more than AU$20 million in expanding its capsules and closures business in Australia.
