Unisort Flakesorter sensor sorter

Wednesday, 07 March, 2012 | Supplied by: STEINERT Australia Pty Ltd

Based on colour recognition technology, the UniSort Flakesorter can sort plastics, metals and other materials down to very fine fractions.

The 3 m-long, high-resolution machine has a sensor width of 0.75 m and a fraction range size of 5 to 20 mm. It can make more than 24 million measurements/s. The sorter has 120 high-speed valves and a 6.25 mm nozzle-grid.

For plastic sorting, the Unisort P Flake uses hyperspectral imaging and near infrared technology to detect different types of plastic. The P Flake separates foreign plastics out of the flow of bulk material. It is suitable for sorting PET flakes, re-granulate PVC, PE, PS or PP flakes.

The Unisort C Flake has been designed to sort the non-ferrous materials such as aluminium and lead out of copper and copper wire.
