Thermo Fisher Scientific eScan inline process analyser

Saturday, 04 February, 2012 | Supplied by: JL Lennard Pty Ltd

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s eScan inline process analyser is available through JL Lennard. It is suitable for bulk measurement of most products processed inside a pipeline or chute.

Using guided microwave spectrometer (GMS) technology to measure key product ingredients, the device is claimed to offer greater control of food quality and efficiency of each line.

GMS enables the device to provide information about key properties such as fat, protein, moisture, oil, salt, brix, pH and acidity. The concentration of polar, semi-polar and non-polar molecules reacts to microwave energy, so the analyser alerts users if their content deviates from set points, potentially avoiding downtime.

It is suitable for analysing meat, pureed fruit and vegetables, seafood, dairy, snack foods, nut butters, confectionery, orange juice, pet food and ice cream.

The company claims that, unlike other machines that provide only surface measurement, the analyser measures through the cross-section of flow.

The analyser has no moving parts or optical sensors and is simple to calibrate.
