Stuart Scientific Equipment antimicrobial equipment range

The Stuart range of benchtop science equipment comprises more than 100 products including block heaters, colony counters, hotplates, stirrers, rockers and shakers, rotary evaporators and water baths. Other equipment includes melting point apparatus and water stills, with the Aquatron and Merit ranges.

All Stuart benchtop equipment is designed, manufactured and marketed in an ISO9001:2008 environment. The complete Stuart range of equipment is protected by BioCote, an additive applied during the manufacturing process, utilising active agent silver to provide long-term effective antimicrobial protection. The BioCote finish inhibits the ability of the bacteria to reproduce. Without the ability to reproduce the bacteria will naturally die, normally within 8 h. This has the effect of reducing the levels of the bacteria by up to 99% during an 8 h period, while on a non-Biocote protected product the levels of bacteria could grow exponentially.
