NAMSA Self-Contained Biological Indicators, Spore Strips and Discs

NAMSA offers a full range of biological indicators including Self-Contained Biological Indicators (SCBIs) and Spore Strips and Discs.

SCBIs are available for monitoring steam (G. stearothermophilus) and ethylene oxide (B. atropheus) sterilisation processes. Spore Strips are available for monitoring ethylene oxide (B. atropheus), dry heat (B. atropheus), steam (G. stearothermophilus) and radiation (B. pumilus) sterilisation processes. The products are also suitable for monitoring plasma sterilisation processes using hydrogen peroxide eg, hydrogen peroxide sanitisation of biological cabinets. The Spore Strips are 6 x 30 mm in size and are packaged in individual glassine envelopes in packs of 100.

For applications where a smaller biological indicator is required, NAMSA has a range of Mini Spore Strips (2 x 10 mm) and Spore Discs (3 and 6 mm diameter) which are suitable for ethylene oxide (B. atropheus), dry heat (B. atropheus) and steam (G. stearothermophilus) sterilisation processes. Spore Strips are available with spore populations of between 102 and 108 spores/strip and the Mini Spore Strips and Spore Discs are available with spore populations of 10⁶ spores/strip or spores/disc.

NAMSA Biological Indicators have an 18- to 24-month shelf life from date of manufacture and are stored at room temperature. These products are certified for population, purity and resistance (dvalue, zvalue and survival and kill where applicable) and are compliant with ANSI/AAMI/ISO/EN 11138 series of standards and USP where applicable.

NAMSA can also produce custom biological indicators with certified spore populations in formats such as cotton threads, stainless steel coupons etc to suit almost any sterilisation monitoring application.
