Mettler-Toledo Safeline ASN 9000 metal detection system

Thursday, 09 August, 2012 | Supplied by: Mettler-Toledo Ltd

Mettler-Toledo Safeline has launched the ASN 9000 metal detection system which incorporates multi-, ultra-high and tuned frequency technology to deliver high levels of detection for all product types including high moisture content and metallised film packaging. It is compliant with Global Food Safety Initiative Standards.

To increase detection sensitivity, the system incorporates a powerful dual-level sensitivity boosting software algorithm. The system segregates the small signals generated from metal contaminants from those generated by the product itself and amplifies these signals to a detectable level, allowing detection of all metal types including ferrous, nonferrous and stainless steel in dry or high-moisture products.

The ASN 9000 software features a single-pass automatic set-up routine. A product-memory facility that stores up to 100 settings ensures users with multiple products can easily inspect their entire product range with the one metal detector. It can be programmed to specifically detect one type of metal in preference to other metal types.

The system’s full-colour, touch-screen HMI has easy-to-use operating systems in 12 languages, including six Asian languages, reducing training times.

It can be supplied with Mettler-Toledo Safeline’s Series 800 and 1200 automatic conveyor systems, constructed from stainless steel with flat or modular belts.

The ASN Profile search head is sealed to IP69K high-pressure cleaning rating for use in harsh environments. The search head’s compact size minimises the overall footprint of the system.

The ASN 9000 can be supplied with a USB port to download operational data and ethernet connectivity for manufacturers wanting to incorporate their inspection equipment into factory management and automated data collection systems.
