Koch Membrane Systems has released its HpHT ultrafiltration membranes that are cleanable at a temperature of 85 °C and a pH of between 2.0 and 12.5, thus removing the need to use chlorine-based cleaning agents.
They provide producers from the dairy and food industries with an environmentally friendly solution to their filtration needs. In addition to having a long product life, the modules also provide good protein recovery, with the rate per module claimed to be up to 25% higher than other available products.
The membranes mean that end users can now equip an existing system with fewer modules and improve the system’s performance.
