Marel IPL Robot

Monday, 27 May, 2013 | Supplied by: Marel

Marel has produced a high-performance intelligent portion loading (IPL) Robot that can be configured to virtually any application in the protein sector.

The universal graphical interface makes the system’s controls straightforward and easy to use. Remote access to customers’ installations is possible, enabling fault diagnosis and performance monitoring.

The robot picks and places at speeds of up to 80 picks/min and has a reach of up to 1250 mm. The gripper technology enables most products - even those that are delicate - to be lifted and placed, at speed, into a tray or thermoformer in a variety of configurations.

Examples of products include bacon, cooked deli meats, fish and cheese.

The IPL Robot vision system can recognise product characteristics such as size or shape and can be programmed to place or divert products according to requirements.
