Level detection in bins, silos and hoppers

Siemens has added the Sitrans LVS100 to its line of vibrating point level switches for high, low or demand levels of dry bulk solids in bins, silos or hoppers.

The device detects the presence of material with bulk densities starting at 60 g/L in food, plastics, chemical and pharmaceutical industries in hazardous applications.

Used primarily for high or low level indication and redundancy of continuous level systems as overfill or dry run protection, the Sitrans LVS100 is impervious to external vibrations, and the vibrating fork design ensures the sensing tines are kept clean for reduced maintenance.

Sitrans LVS100 has a compact design that can be top, side or angle mounted. The rotating enclosure ensures easy installation and wiring, and can be connected to an alarm system or control room simply.

The unit is durable with no moving parts. The stainless steel process connections and rugged aluminium housing provide high resistance to mechanical forces, ensuring a long, reliable service life.
