Image processing system

The ZFX-CD smart vision sensor is a total image processing system that includes everything from a camera with an integrated light source to an image processing unit, 1D/2D and pharmacode reading capability.

Using Omron’s measurement algorithm, parameters can be set in a few steps via the touch panel colour monitor.

The smart user interface makes the unit simple to use even for complete image enhancement.

The IP67 ZFX-CD series can be used to inspect pattern, brightness, hue, position, width, count and area. Light levels can be controlled using the built-in light. A monochrome or colour camera can be connected to the same controller. The device allows multiple measurement tools to function simultaneously, eg, pattern search, sensitive search, defects, hue, position, width, count and region/area.

ZFX-CD can store up to 100 images in memory for product selection without slowing down. It is capable of storing up to 1024 products in the memory for pre-cuts selection.

The series allows on-site adjustment without returning to menu mode or stopping the line. The programming option can be accessed by using a touch pen, key or programming console connected to the external monitor. Connection can be done via digital I/O, RS 232/422, USB connection or ethernet.

The password function allows only authorised people to make changes.

The series can be used as a stand-alone system and a PC is not required for setting up two camera connections with the same system.

Some application examples include the detection of expiry date, label, position of label, cap, liquid level, damaged bottle, missing parts, pharmacode reading, 1D/2D barcode reading, checking quality, measuring size and dimensions, guiding robot and more.
