The robust and compact RM9000 multiturn encoder from ifm efector is designed for use in mobile applications. The encorder converts 4096 revolutions into one absolute position value.
The gear-free system uses the Wiegand effect to keep the position values stored in case of a power failure without battery buffer and to pass the exact position on to the controller without referencing. The multiturn encoder can be easily connected to the CAN bus of the external electronics via M12 connector.
The high protection rating of IP68/IP69K is claimed to offer superior performance in harsh environments and the EMC requirements to e1 type approval.
