Frequency inverters

SEW-Eurodrive has launched the next evolution of its Movitrac LTE series of frequency inverters, version B.

Equipped with a range of new functions, it is suitable for low-power variable-speed drives, such as small fans and pumps, machine tools and conveyors.

The inverter is available in two power ratings — units up to 2.2 kW (single-phase) and units up to 7.5 kW (three-phase) — and comes in three compact frame sizes rated to either IP20 or IP55. It also has an integrated DIN rail snap-in mounting that simplifies installation.

Fast and easy to set up, it also has 14 standard and 26 extended configuration parameters.

The inverters series offers users four means of access for drive configuration, monitoring and control.

It is equipped with an in-built keypad, an onboard RS485 port for PC access, an infrared optical link for wireless connectivity to pocket PC or smart phone and optional portable programming stick for multi-drive parameter transfer.

The portable programming stick means OEMs need not program large numbers of drives. Now they can configure a single drive and transfer the parameters onto any number of other drives.

The series is equipped with an energy optimiser that enables the drive to automatically match the applied motor voltage (hence torque) with the load conditions — the drive uses only what it needs.

There is support for industrial fieldbus-based communications systems via a SEW-Eurodrive UFx gateway, that can be connected to the inverter’s integrated RJ-45 connector. This enables users to implement communications protocols, including Profibus, DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, ProfiNet, ModbusIP and EtherCat.
