Food protein analyser

Monday, 31 August, 2009 | Supplied by: DKSH Australia Pty Ltd

All proteins in food contain the amino acids arginine, histidine and lysine and CEM’s iTAG technology can bind to the three amino acids.

The aromatic portion of the molecule absorbs light and is easily detected with a colorimeter, giving an unbiased measure of true protein content quickly and easily.

The Sprint uses this technology to give a 3 min test that is easy to use and AOAC compliant.

The data provided gives true, real-time protein data useful for controlling processes. Only proteins are measured, not total nitrogen as in most other techniques.

No calibration is needed and the system is low in maintenance.

The systems use only safe chemicals and no hazardous waste is produced so no operator hazards are associated with the analysis.

The Sprint can analyse solids, liquids and powders and gives accurate data regardless of sample temperature. Varying sample matrices do not present a problem for the analyser.
