Confined space gas detector

The BW Technologies Micro Clip personal gas detector is intended to warn personnel working in confined spaces of the presence of the most commonly encountered hazardous gases and combustibles. The Micro Clip is offered for rent with a calibration confirmation process being conducted before every new hire. This avoids the risk with a user’s own units being used when defective due to malfunction or the accumulation of working environment contaminants. It also avoids the expense and administration overhead of a user maintaining test gases with current certification.

The Micro Clip features simple one-button operation. Display and data logging of gas concentrations of H2S, CO, CO2, and combustibles are provided. Hazardous concentration alarms are indicated by display, alarm tone and, for high noise areas, a vibrating alarm. There are four categories of alarm — instant low and high alarm for all gases, time weighted average and short-term exposure limit for H2S, CO; plus over limit alarm. Battery operation is from a lithium polymer battery with a typical run time of 12 h and a short recharge time. The Micro Clip is lightweight and compact and has an integral concussion-proof boot for use in rugged environments.

The Micro Clip is now available for short- or long-term hire from TechRentals.
