Breconcherry Tempest tank washer

The Breconcherry Tempest is a high-flow jetting tank washer specially designed with longer nozzles to maximise power and efficiency.

Suitable for large vessels in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, coatings and transport industries, the washer’s long nozzles produce four ‘heavy’ and highly focused jets that rotate in a spiral pattern to provide a 360º coverage.

Powered entirely by the wash water, the simple drive mechanism maintains an optimum jet peripheral velocity that maximises jet impingement and chemical dwell times. The short, efficient wash cycle minimises downtime and saves on water and effluent costs.

The Tempest is constructed from only 48 parts, which can be dismantled and re-assembled in minutes. It is supplied with a basic repair kit of only 10 parts, making it easy to maintain. The external design and self-cleaning backwash nozzles ensure the cleaning head is completely hygienic by ensuring product cannot settle on it.

There are no stainless steel ball bearings, which through wear and tear can cause contamination. The unique design features FDA-compliant PTFE bearings, which improve performance and eliminate any contamination risk.

Lightweight and compact, the washer has a 1.5″ BSP connection and requires a minimum manhole/flange opening of 210 mm for unit insertion. At a pressure of 10 bar and a flow rate of 390 L/min, the Tempest has a cleaning radius of 9.5 m and wetting radius of 17 m. It is suitable for working temperatures up to 95°C and ambient temperatures of up to 140°C.

The washer is a suitable replacement for large spray balls where high-impact or saturation cleaning is required and where efficiency, durability and hygiene are essential.
