Boge Compressors SO-2 model, oil-free screw compressors

Boge has launched its second-generation SO series oil-free screw compressors. The SO-2 models in the 110 to 255 kW performance class feature higher efficiency, reduced sound pressure levels and a service-friendly layout. The screw compressors are suited to the food, pharmaceuticals and semiconductor industries where absolutely oil-free compressed air generation is required.

The cooling air flow of the SO-2 models has been optimised. Intake air is drawn from the coolest area to help increase the free air delivery and additionally, the minimisation of internal pressure losses has led to greater efficiency, both of which help to improve specific power consumption.

The SO-2 models are now equipped with a combined sound and pulsation absorber. An intelligent design and the use of powerful absorbing materials means the entire range operates with significantly improved sound pressure levels, making the SO series quieter in operation.

A further technical improvement is the addition of a condensate separator in the intercooler between the first- and second-stage air-ends. This improved separation means safe operation for the second stage in applications where there are low ambient temperatures or in situations where there is high humidity.

Improved access to the more intensive maintenance components has also been an important part of the SO enhancement; for example, the oil cooler has been relocated from under the air-end and is now located in the area beneath the intercooler and aftercooler.

The Boge SO-2 series has been reengineered to produce oil-free compressed air with high efficiency and safety, and the eight models and 16 variations ensure there is a version to meet all requirements from 110 to 355 kW.
