Alfa Laval’s agitators have smooth surfaces that promote optimal flow and meet hygienic standards in the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical and home-personal care industries.
The EnSaFoil impellers, including specialist impellers for fermentation, absorb the heat of the product resulting in reduced energy consumption. Based on fluid dynamic studies, their shape makes them up to 400% more efficient than impellers with a standard pitch, according to the company.
As well as minimising energy loss, the impellers operate at reduced speeds without reducing pumping capacity. Consequently, the company says the product is exposed to low shear stress and agitator power consumption is lowered by up to 80% compared to agitators with conventional impellers.
The agitators are designed for easy cleaning, and configuration for use in sterile/aseptic applications is also possible.
