Spring Gully boosts production to trade out of administration
Spring Gully Foods says it has hired additional staff to boost production while it attempts to trade its way out of voluntary administration. For the first time in its history, the company has moved to two shifts a day to meet rapidly expanded demand.
Major new orders from the national supermarket chains and ongoing public support are driving demand to the point that a second shift is necessary.
“In recent weeks there has been extensive negotiations with major supermarket chains which have also involved independent senator Nick Xenophon and our administrator, Austin Taylor,” Webb said.
“These have resulted in major new contracts which mean we have to boost products. As administrator, Mr Taylor approved us taking on two additional staff initially, with the situation to be reviewed later.”
Webb says the new arrangements will boost production by almost 50%, enabling Spring Gully to build up stock and meet rapidly increased demand.
