Hanna Instruments FC230B and FC430B pH electrodes for meat processing applications
Hanna Instruments manufactures two pH electrodes specifically for use in meat processing applications.
The FC230B is particularly suited to the measurement of pH in meat at temperatures ranging from 20 to 40°C. The free diffusion layer of the open junction allows the greatest degree of contact and is suitable for taking repeated and accurate measurements at short intervals. Open junction electrodes also reduce the common problems of junction clogging and slow or drifting response.
In addition, the viscolene electrolyte contains no silver in order to avoid sample contamination. These electrodes are constructed with a PVDF outer body and 6 mm diameter sensor. The user can configure the electrode with either an FC098 blade (20 mm penetration) or an FC099 (35 mm penetration) blade, which are purchased separately and screw on to the electrode.
The FC430B electrode has the same characteristics as above, but is suited to use in the temperature range -5 to 30°C.
