Romer CytoQuant mobile flow cytometer
Using impedance flow cytometry, the Romer Labs CytoQuant measures bacteria and residue concentrations on surfaces. Separate, precise counts for each are produced in just 30 s with a simple swab test that can be used by anyone — no special training or lab required. Measurements are not influenced by disinfectants, temperature or humidity and simple connectivity allows the user to export and document test results with ease.
Existing testing methods can come with considerable limitations. ATP tests will measure biological residues and, while simple and fast, are not a meaningful indicator of disinfection efficacy. Traditional plate count methods take days to return a result and only 1% of all bacteria is culturable. Now, this product allows the user to quantify all bacteria with an intact cell wall and provides immediate, on-site verification of cleaning and disinfection procedures in food production facilities. Food processors can implement CytoQuant to enable fast, informed decision-making for preventative control and preoperational actions.
