Microgen Path-Chek environmental Listeria kit

The Microgen Path-Chek environmental Listeria kit is a simple and safe kit to use even if the user doesn’t have their own laboratory. Simply swab the surface, snap the swab tip into the tube and incubate. A positive result is indicated when the tube changes from yellow to black.

The kit has a number of design features that the company claims can maximise recovery, simplify sample collection and minimise risk to the manufacturing facility. The kit uses a neutralising, premoistened swab that can maximise the recovery of Listeria and ensure viability by removing any detergents or sanitiser residues that could inhibit a true positive result.

The system gives fast results with 97% of Listeria monocytogenes isolates detected at 24 hours and 100% at 48 hours. Negative results are not reported until 48 hours. It’s easy to read, and the yellow to black colour change can remove the guesswork. The results can be safely read without opening the sealed detection tube. Positive results can be confirmed with the Microgen Listeria Latex test in 2 min or sent away to an external laboratory.

Providing high sensitivity, the kit will detect Listeria down to 5 organisms/100 cm2 and is compliant with the requirements of ISO 18593:2004(e) for surface testing.

The Microgen Path-Chek range also includes Salmonella and Coliform environmental test kits.

The Path-Check kit is available in 25 and 100 test pack sizes.
